Duffy is in foster care in Upstate New York

Duffy and his brother Harry were two of only a handful of small mixed breed dogs saved from a hoarding situation in NC a few months ago. While he is now relaxed with people he knows, he still easily falls back into a panic response when meeting strangers.  Like his brother Harry, even when he is scared,  he never shows signs of aggression. Rather he tries to flee.  He is a sweet and affectionate dog, loyal enough by now to be off leash  in a familiar surrounding. But he still has a long way to go before he can relax around strangers.
He is small, weighs around 25 lbs, has a mixed coat that needs to to trimmed but also  sheds slightly. He is smaller than a purebred Wheaten,might have a poodle among his ancestors. He is crate trained, knows his name, seems house trained.  Loves other dogs and ignores cats. 

Because of his rough start in life and resulting fearfulness, we would not place him into a home with full time small children.
