Smittie Schmith 9 months later!

Smittie and friend

Smittie Smith at home!

Smittie  is in foster care in Upstate New York

I have a new name,Smittie, but I also like Calvin if you would prefer that name. I am a dog with many facets: Always ready to explore and take in distant scents or just sit in the sun and listen to the birds - they seem to think spring has arrived in February. My leash walking skills are a work in progress.

Once indoors and back in my large crate I settle down immediately and watch calmly and very patiently! Hardly ever heard off. Watchdog is not one of my facets.

I was rescued from a rural shelter in NC where not many dogs get adopted. Not much is known about my past and I cannot tell, other than that I am a young dog, maybe an English Cocker Spaniel or mix, weigh around 30 lbs, and I am in good health. I am very crate trained. Get along well with other dogs as long as they are not in my face.

I have settled down and I am quite happy here, but I must move on and am searching for my forever home.

Come and I will take you for a walk!
